Current and Future Exhibitions

Videogame World-by Teresa Young.
I'm publishing this concurrently with the same blogpost on my artist website - http://teresa-young.net/blog because the art site blog just doesn't have the same functionality and connections to other applications that blogger has. So I think I'll just post in both locations in the future!
I've started writing this post quite few times in the last few months, and unfortunately, I just never seemed to get it together. Probably a real sign that I'm a painter, not a writer!

Since October, when I did my last post, quite a bit has happened for me. I broke my ankle just before Christmas, and I've been hobbling around ever since! I've also been painting quite a bit, but that's pretty well a given for me. I'm very lucky, I may experience writers block, but thank goodness I never have painters block!

Art History Channel
I've finally been getting my artwork out more before the public, and it has seemed to be a somewhat natural process. Messages from people seeing my work online come to my inbox, and it's very nice to have such wonderful feedback!

In November, I was approached and accepted as a selected artist for Art History Channel's 21st Century Artists Website (current) and upcoming cable show starting in March 2011.

Here's the link if you want to take a look at it. It's quite nice! http://arthistorychannel.com/21stcenturygallery.html

I was also contacted by a gallery in London, England, just before Christmas asking if I'd be interested in participating in a group show in January.

It was very cool sending my paintings across the big water like that! Funny thing is, they could end up doing more traveling that I have...

I've never been out of North America, in fact I think I'll have to go out and get a passport soon!

I'd certainly like to see more of the world if opportunities arise to do so...

Seriously though, I do have a good reason to get a passport, I was contacted last week by an art organization in Firenze, Italy.

They had found my artwork on the Internet and put it through their selection process and invited me to participate in an international exhibition in December!

I was wondering if it was for real, because it's hard to believe someone would just find you on the Internet like that, but I checked out their site, and it's definitely valid. http://www.florencebiennale.org/

Exposing Your Inner Child by Teresa Young.

It would be in exhibition with 649 other artists (which is mind boggling!), and it's a celebration week with multiple shows and events. I think it would be a very cool thing to attend! I might have to try learning some Italian though...

The show in London has been going well, apparently, and started on January 7th and goes until the 27th.

I was honoured to be asked by the Camden Art Gallery to join the upcoming group exhibition starting on January 28th that goes until February 17th. It's pretty funny actually, the 17th is my birthday. I'm hitting the big five oh;-)

As for other exhibitions, I am currently in a Projekt30 shows online, the January exhibition of thirty artists that have passed through the jurying process for the final display - http://www.projekt30.com/final_display.php?show_id=98.

There is also a local gallery here, just outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia, that is interested in showing some of my work in the summer or fall, the name is Swoon Fine Art. http://www.swoonfineart.com/ . It would be great to have some local representation!
